about evelien

Evelien studied piano and singing at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague. She worked for many years as a professional singer in the Dutch and Flemish Broadasting Choir before becoming a secondairy school music teacher in Brussels. She also works as a private piano teacher, vocal coach and accompanist. Composing music has always played an important role in her life and the piano pieces written for her students often stem from improvisation and are in swing or in blues style. One of her compositions (60’Swing) can be found in the syllabus of the ABRSM grade examinations of 2015-’16. Besides piano pieces she has written children’s songs, vocal and instrumental compositions and arrangements.
